Too many of us are becoming algorithmically controlled people. I like to see Facebook and HN likes and comments. I saw an extreme example of a YouTuber kid who pranked his own wife on their wedding day with bad vows, and got her on OnlyFans. Pretty gross. Even good folks like FarmCraft101 on YouTube are clearly living their lives to create specific content to get the algorithm to pay attention.
The “No Kings” protests are being put on by the same people who have been giving these dire warnings since 2015, but all that has really happened has been tax cuts and government reform attempts. I think protests are mostly useless anyways, but the far left seems to be calling for more violence. The most upvoted video on Reddit is a MAGA guy yelling at protestors how he loves ICE then people steal his sunglasses and assault him. Probably a bad idea to be a counterprotestor now when the far left has embraced violence including the attempted assassination of Trump twice and the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
