Two Contrasting Experiences

Dentist:

I went to a dentist’s office I hadn’t been to before and had a bad experience. Most of my appointment was spent at the front desk confirming my insurance would work. The dental hygienist did a rushed job scraping my teeth and the dentist barely pulled open my lips to look at my teeth and said, “Everything’s fine!” and rushed off.

Then they called a month later telling me I owed hundreds of dollars because the dentist in question was not covered by insurance in network even though that is what I’d spent most of the appointment confirming. I told them not to call me anymore and I would not be paying and wrote a negative review on Google Maps.

The very next day, the owner of the dental clinic called me, took accountability, apologized, and made things right. Private business owners work hard to make sure they deliver what their customers want or they don’t stay in business long.

Government:

I applied for a government deal around a year ago in January-ish. It took them six months to send a person out to do a report on my property trying to find “artifacts”. I met the person in July of 2025, they found no artifacts. It is now December, and the report shows no sign of being finished… it shouldn’t be hard to say “No artifacts found”. Crazy.

But who do I call or talk or where do I leave a review? No one cares in the giant government bureaucracy. They only care about covering their own behinds. If I was to complain, they would retaliate and simply never finish my report. Every experience I’ve had with the government is similarly painful with no recourse.
