Interesting story from far left news outlet CNN…
https://www.cnn.com/2025/09/28/us/dc-911-firefighter-shooting
Basically, a Washington DC firefighter named Zeek was robbed at gunpoint by a young man named Marcellus. Marcellus shot Zeek and fled. Zeek tried calling 911 but due to the government’s very poor administration of 911 was unable to get through so instead he called his fire department buddies directly to come help him.
Zeek commented that in his professional capacity as a firefighter he knew DC’s government 911 service was terribly run. But what about the regular people who aren’t firefighters? Zeek commented that he was happy Trump’s administration has stepped in to try to help deal with a crime rate higher than most cities worldwide. He said he hopes the prosecutors makes an example of Marcellus.
I’m glad to see CNN ran this story, most far left organizations don’t mention this sort of thing, even if they did leave a lot of the important details for the very end of a long article.
These same far left news organizations have claimed Trump’s anti crime takeover of DC was an attempt to become a dictator… But they quietly ignored when it ended a couple of weeks ago. Now they are screaming about a similar approach to Portland. But those of us who live near Portland have seen it transform from a quirky fun city to a crime and bum ridden disaster that is emptying out. When I drive through it now, all I see are druggies and homeless camps everywhere.
Hopefully the far left starts to acknowledge the failure of these soft on crime policies and the failure of government to solve even basic problems like 911. Why do we keep asking the government to solve more problems when it has failed to solve most of the problems we have given it already? Shrink the government, cut taxes and spending and let’s find new approaches.
Casey Hart How about how the far left has purged academia of anyone who doesn’t share their viewpoints? Academia is pretty much all government-funded and run. Or how the administrative government itself has done the same thing with regular government employees? Or how both government and academia moved to using openly racist policies in hiring and promotions over the last 20-30 years? When people refer to the deep state, they are not referring to some lizard conspiracy, they are referring to the massive government funded purges that have taken place against certain viewpoints. Now the entire metastasizing cancer that is our federal government is used to shut down viewpoints different from its own and to remove basic freedoms. Many of the actions taken by the far left government are outright unconstitutional.
Government employees have taken advantage of taxpayers to make it impossible to fire them. Most of their union contracts are extremely unethical. Trump firing anyone he is allowed to fire and more is using the same sort of tactics the far left used to establish near total control of our government.
Maga and Trump are a reactionary movement driven by extreme frustration with how the far left have abused government power for two or three decades now. If the left dislikes feeling their own tactics used against them, they should abandon those tactics. Get rid of unfair government employee union contracts, get rid of the outright government racism, get rid of the purges of those with conservative viewpoints. Shrink the government so neither party can abuse it’s power. Return to a much smaller federal government that let’s the states and people decide how they want to live.
