Should the US help the protestors in Iran?

I received a very strange call from an Iranian friend today. Here’s how it went:

Him – “You post a lot of political stuff online, can you post for the US to go all in hitting Iranian Islamic Republic targets to support the protest / revolution?”

Me – “Ummm… Ok… Isn’t your family in Tehran?”

Him – “Yes, but the US has been pretty precise about hitting targets and now is the critical time for support to happen. People are saying somewhere between 2,000 – 20,000 unarmed innocent protestors have been killed by the regime so far in this uprising.”

Me – “Ok”

Him – “The Islamic Republic is evil but is only a paper tiger… the regime will fall easily if the protestors get some military support. Also, ISIS and the other terrorist groups in the region have all been backed and funded by the Islamic Republic in Iran, so if we want to eradicate that we should cut off the head of the snake.”

I did some googling and there are articles saying hospitals all over the country are being overwhelmed https://www.foxnews.com/world/iranian-hospitals-overwhelmed-injuries-protests-rage-across-islamic-republic. The regime has done a complete internet blackout to be able to kill protestors without the news spreading https://www.foxnews.com/world/iran-protests-grow-deadlier-regime-internet-blackout-fails-stop-uprising.

The American Revolution would not have happened without external countries like France and Spain supporting us. Perhaps we should return the favor now for the Iranian people?
