The truth in a lot of academic research today is that researchers need to get published to have a career and most journals will not publish science that runs contrary to the popular political narratives. This leads researchers to self-select as well as a journals to select for only showing one narrative. This means they’re not doing science at all, hence the loss of faith in a lot of science, especially in the business and social areas.
