Yet another good reason for leaving California… 98 lifeguards making over $200,000 a year and one who makes over $500,000 a year.
Add this to the very long list of misallocated government resources in California:
- Reparations to former slaves. This is not a state issue, but a federal issue. And at the federal level, it is ridiculous… every single human alive has had ancestors who were slaves in the last few hundred years. Serfs, peasants, etc in Europe were slaves just as much as there were slaves in America. Until energy and engines set free the human race, most people were in some form of slavery.
- A gigantic government bureaucracy where no one can be fired
- Extremely powerful unions for government workers including teachers resulting in pay far above what ordinary taxpayers earn
- Constant government infrastructure projects that are not completed and steal billions in taxpayer money (see the LA – SF high speed rail plan)
