I decided to go with rereading the whole Brandon Sanderson Storm light archive series. It helps pass the time when feeding the new baby at night, but it’s a bit of a slog. I reread Mark Lawrence Prince of thorns series before this and he seems to have a lot more fun as an author. I would highly recommend him and his various series. If you read that one, I would recommend his death wish series next.
Dungeon crawler Carl was epic the first couple of books and got a little more repetitive and boring by the most recent book. You can tell it turned a bit from a work of passion for the author into a job cranking out as many as he can. Mark Lawrence explicitly talks about this in epilogues in his series… More money with more books but he would lose his passion for the story.
I am also reading the Haywire Heart… I remember you had a heart issue? This is by a pro level cyclist I highly respect Zinn and a cardiologist. It’s on older male advanced endurance athletes.
