The system is designed to keep us slaving away. Even for those of us who “escape” it a bit, that can only be temporary before it sucks us or our progeny back in.
When we work to earn our income, it is taxed at rates up to one third of what we make. Another tenth of our income is taken in payroll taxes before we even get the check. When we spend our money, another tenth gets taken out. If we invest our money and it goes up, a fifth gets taken. If we buy property, every year a portion of it gets taken. When we die, they take half of the paltry amount that remains. All that work we do, and so very little left for us who do the work.
What does the system do with everything it takes? It wastes it incredibly foolish ways: handouts to those that don’t work and demotivate those of us who do, to regulators who make up rules that have nothing to do with reality, and to corrupt contractors who give it right back to the corrupt politicians.
