Hopeful parents in Washington State are required to jump through many expensive hoops by law. Parents have to pay for a psychological screening and take off work for it, do extensive medical tests and take off work for them, and pay enormous fees for other related services.

Patents destroy innovation. Patents are little government monopolies on human knowledge that prevent free market competition. Usually patents are awarded for those that least deserve them and for time periods far beyond anything sensible. Allow competition to get more innovation.
