We just had a 5.9 earthquake in Southern California ten minutes ago according to the USGS website. I noticed it will buying a plane ticket for my little brother to fly back to Seattle after visiting me this week. My mirrors were swinging and the ropes on my light were swinging as well. The earthquake was right in the middle of the California- Mexico border.
The New York Times is reporting that over a trillion dollars in minerals was found in Afghanistan recently. Afghan & U.S. officials are saying that it could completely change the face of Afghanistan now.
Want to know what should be done?
Iraq should be made the 51st state. Afghanistan should be made the 52nd.

I watched Burma VJ, a documentary made by actual video journalists in Burma. They use real footage of the people and monks of Burma rising against the brutal military regime. The military junta cracked down hard and killed many people. My grandfather on my father’s side of the family passed away today.
