SUPER FUNNY UPDATE ON JOEL OSTEEN: Check out Joel Osteen’s super scammy books he sells on Amazon (24!!!) including his self help BS book
and his hilarious book on “Wise Choices”. If only he’d follow his own advice!
LOL! For all you Joel Osteen fanboys – remember he just cynically feeds on you to make money so he can live his fancy lifestyle. He couldn’t care less about you in reality.
Popular televangelist preacher Joel Osteen has been named the “Most Influential Christian in America” in 2006 by the Church Report, was one of Barbara Walters, “10 Most Fascinating People of 2006 and operates an extraordinarily profitable religious scam operation that probably will one day end in scandal.
So who is this guy who has appeared on 60 Minutes, Larry King Live and has his own television shows?
Who is this guy who thinks he can share the mighty name of Joel?
Joel Osteen has not yet had major sex scandals, drug scandals or molestation scandals like the other megachurch pastors: Pat Robertson, Al Sharpton, Ted Haggard, Paul Barnes, D.E. (Earl) Paulk, Jimmy Swaggert, Jim Bakker, William Dodd and too many others to possibly mention here. What Joel Osteen DOESN’T do is the real question.
In his sermons, Joel Osteen does not talk about God. Joel Osteen instead talks about almost everything except God. He has a television ministry, a massive church, $43 million a year in tithes and another $36 million a year in mailed in donations, but he won’t talk about God. He, like Pastor Kevin Gerald, talks about more pleasant topics, such as donating money to him and positive thinking. He has written two books, the second of which sold 3 million copies, but his books don’t really talk about God either. It’s just his bland and boring advice on how to live a happy life that has been thought of by other people first, “Think positively about yourself” and other such drivel.
What does Joel Osteen say when people ask him about why he does not discuss God or Jesus Christ or sin or what you need to do to go to Heaven? “That’s not my gift.” What are you doing being a freaking megachurch pastor then, bonehead?!
If you are going to try to operate a religious scam, at least make it religious! I actually think that Joel Osteen operating a secular “Christian” church is more of a scandal than Ted Haggard and his transsexual prostitutes and meth! (Though not nearly as funny of a scandal).
Joel Osteen didn’t even found his megachurch; instead the business was handed down to him by his father. When Joel Osteen became the head pastor of his church, he had only preached ONE sermon in his entire life- and that was the week before. Joel Osteen does not have any training in the Bible (seminary, degrees, etc.), which is probably why he doesn’t want to talk about it much.
My loyal readers have pointed out to me many times that the ridiculous actions of leaders in religion do not invalidate their beliefs. They are absolutely correct on this. However, there has never been anything that VALIDATES their beliefs either. The Flying Spaghetti Monster has the same amount of evidence on his side as most other gods. Here is another question I put to you: Please find me a single megachurch pastor who is NOT a scam-running, meth-eating, prostitute-abusing criminal. Anyone?
Update March 3, 2008 on JOEL OSTEEN:
Many people have been discussing Joel Osteen in the comments and making statements about his beliefs, behavior and preaching methods that show a distinct lack of understanding of his profit driven motives. Below I have added a video of Joel Osteen on Larry King Live where he dances around the core question of the Christian faith: What does it take to get to heaven? Joel Osteen hems and haws and won’t even say that people of different religions won’t make it to heaven.
The partial transcript for Joel Osteen’s interview with Larry King is below. I have basically pulled out the most pertinent excerpts to the point I have tried to make on televangelist Joel Osteen.
Televangelist Joel Osteen Discusses Christianity with Larry King
First is Larry King’s impressive introduction of Joel Osteen:
LARRY KING, CNN HOST: Tonight, Joel Osteen, evangelism’s hottest rising star, pastor for the biggest congregation in the United States… Pastor Joel Osteen is here for the hour…. Joel Osteen is the author of the number one “New York Times” best-seller, “Your Best Life Now.” There you see its cover. “Seven Steps to Living at Your Full Potential.” There is now a compendium been published called “Your Best Life Now Journal,” a guide to reaching that full potential. Joel Osteen is pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. His father before him. He has been called the smiling preacher.
Larry King knows Joel Osteen Ministries is huge and tries to play nice with him throughout the interview.
KING: Why are you a preacher?
JOEL OSTEEN: You know, I never was for 17 years. I worked with my dad there at the church. He tried to get me to minister. I didn’t have it in me. I worked behind the scenes. I loved doing production and things. But when my father died, I just knew — I don’t know how to explain it, it sounds kind of odd, but I just knew down to here I was supposed to step up to the plate and pastor the church. And it was odd because I had never preached before. But I just knew I was supposed to do it.
Hmmm… either God gave him the “calling” or he was scared of losing his father’s multi-million dollar preaching business.
KING: But don’t you think if people don’t believe as you believe, they’re somehow condemned?
JOEL OSTEEN: You know, I think that happens in our society. But I try not to do that. I tell people all the time, preached a couple Sundays about it. I’m for everybody. You may not agree with me, but to me it’s not my job to try to straighten everybody out. The Gospel called the good news. My message is a message of hope, that’s God’s for you. You can live a good life no matter what’s happened to you. And so I don’t know. I know there is condemnation but I don’t feel that’s my place.
Joel Osteen comes right out and says that he will refuse to condemn sinners. He is too afraid, it’s not his place, he just wants to spew bland niceties… hmmm.
LARRY KING: Where were you ordained? OSTEEN: I was ordained from the church there, Lakewood, under my dad’s ministry.
LARRY KING: So you didn’t go to seminary?
JOEL OSTEEN: No, sir, I didn’t.
LARRY KING: They can just make you a minister?
JOEL OSTEEN: You can, you can.
Wow. Joel Osteen never even attended Bible school or classes for future preachers. No wonder he is so clueless about Biblical theology.
LARRY KING: Is it hard to lead a Christian life?
JOEL OSTEEN: I don’t think it’s that hard. To me it’s fun. We have joy and happiness. Our family — I don’t feel like that at all. I’m not trying to follow a set of rules and stuff. I’m just living my life.
LARRY KING: But you have rules, don’t you?
JOEL OSTEEN: We do have rules. But the main rule to me is to honor God with your life. To life a life of integrity. Not be selfish. You know, help others. But that’s really the essence of the Christian faith.
Of course its not hard for Joel Osteen to lead a Christian life. BECAUSE HE’S NOT!!!
LARRY KING: What if you’re Jewish or Muslim, you don’t accept Christ at all?
JOEL OSTEEN: You know, I’m very careful about saying who would and wouldn’t go to heaven. I don’t know …
LARRY KING: If you believe you have to believe in Christ? They’re wrong, aren’t they?
JOEL OSTEEN: Well, I don’t know if I believe they’re wrong. I believe here’s what the Bible teaches and from the Christian faith this is what I believe. But I just think that only God with judge a person’s heart. I spent a lot of time in India with my father. I don’t know all about their religion. But I know they love God. And I don’t know. I’ve seen their sincerity. So I don’t know. I know for me, and what the Bible teaches, I want to have a relationship with Jesus.
The last exchange between Larry King and Joel Osteen hits the nail on the head of everything that is wrong with the Joel Osteen Ministry. All it is is fluff. He can’t even defend the single core belief of Christianity- that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is a requirement to gain access to Heaven.
Below is more Joel Osteen preaching videos. Joel Osteen preaches on cheesy, transparent topics that have nothing to do with the Bible. He twists scripture around to serve his own purposes of mass produced drivel. My question to Joel Osteen is where in the Bible does it say Christians have a “right to total victory” over physical pain, financial problems and other issues? Did he completely miss the book of Job or the trials and tribulations that the early Christians had to suffer under the Romans? I don’t think that Joel Osteen has ever even read the Bible.
DO NOT LET JOEL OSTEEN CONTINUE TO GET AWAY WITH HIS BIBLE-CONTRADICTING, POLITICALLY CORRECT AND PROFIT SEEKING DRIVEL! JOEL OSTEEN’S SCANDAL IS OUTRAGEOUS!
Jesus once went into a temple and threw out currency traders and salespeople…. WHO WILL THROW THE SCANDAL CREATING JOEL OSTEEN OUT OF GOD’S ASTRODOME TEMPLE?
Further discussion: Joel Osteen megachurch building – Joel Osteen paid the city of Houston $90,000,000 to remodel the former home of NBA team Houston Rockets and an additional $14,000,000 to lease the building for 30 years. Preacher Joel Osteen’s megachurch does not even own the building! Pastor Joel Osteen doesn’t care though- he’ll be dead by then and this church is all about him. The most interesting thing about the new church is that there is not a SINGLE cross in the whole building! Want to know why? Joel Osteen says that he wants to remove all “stumbling blocks” from the way of people coming to his church and being comfortable. Since when has Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross been a STUMBLING BLOCK for faith?! The scandal here is that the Joel Osteen is doing and saying blasphemous things… and no one is calling him out on it. The pastor of the largest church in America won’t even follow the basic tenets of Christianity!
Visit the Prayer Helpers site here to buy prayers for sale.
Joel Osteen is unable to even keep his own family under control. Pastor Joel Olsteen’s wife, Victoria Osteen, has been fined $3,000 and is being sued for assaulting a flight attendant on her first-class trip to the playground of the rich and famous Vail, Colorado.
Bible Verses that Condemn Megachurch Pastor Joel Osteen
I have had quite a few people post in the comments asking what does it really matter what Joel Osteen believes if he’s helping people? If Joel Osteen teaches nice things, isn’t it okay for him to be a Christian pastor? I understand that my opinions of right and wrong should not sway you, but I ask you to consider what the Bible says on the matter. First, let’s take the Bible verses that are the standard definition of who is a Christian:
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NIV)
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 (NIV)
For the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23 (NIV)
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faithand this not from yourselves, it is the gift of Godnot by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV)
To summarize, the only way to be saved and go to heaven is by the grace of Jesus and by faith in God. These are the basic verses that every Christian who has accepted Christ knows. Now for the verses that clearly state that only Christians who believe the above will go to Heaven:
-John 3:3: no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.
-John 3:15: everyone who believes in him [Jesus] may have eternal life.
-John 3:18: whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of Gods one and only Son.
-John 14:6: Jesus answered: No one comes to the Father except through me
-Acts 3:23: And it shall be, that every soul that shall not hearken to that prophet, shall be utterly destroyed from among the people. (ASV)
-Acts 4:12: Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved
-Romans 10:9: Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved
-Hebrews 9:28: he [Christ] will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him
-1 John 5:12: he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
The nine quoted verses above clearly state that only Christians can go to Heaven. Now, if Joel Osteen truly believed and was a pastor of a Bible-based church, would he preach a false message of hope to people? Joel Osteen is essentially subverting the word of God, which motivated me to write this post. I am not sure why Joel would do this, but my postulation (as above) is that he is doing it for financial gain. Joel Osteens father was a pastor and he has been a pastor for a long time now and he should know better than most people the MOST basic tenets of Christianity. Ignorance is an excuse for new Christians (as long as they work at it), but not for a shepherd of the flock.
Do you know what the Bible says about false teachers like Joel Osteen?
-2 Timothy 4:3,4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth , and be turned aside to fables.
-Matthew 7:15,16 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits.
-Acts 20:29-31 For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves . Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.
-2 Peter 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
-2 Peter 3:16,17 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures. You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked;
-Colossians 2:8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
-Hebrews 13:9 Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them.
The Bible is very, very harsh in its condemnation of people who change, twist or leave out parts of its doctrine. False leaders (Joel Osteen), to me, are more disgusting than someone who is a hypocrite (Ted Haggard).
For more information on mega church pastor Joel Osteen you can search Google with the terms joelosteen.com or joel osteen.com to find the man’s website. You could also use terms such as Joel Osteen Website or Joel Osteen Lakewood Church for other sorts of information on him.
Why do I care what Joel Osteen does or doesnt do in his church, especially seeing that I am not religious? People who are cheats, fakes, and phonies really bother me. I have written quite a few other posts on various community leaders who lead people astray for their own personal gain. My tax dollars go to support Joel Osteen (every church in America is exempt from taxes, but Joel Osteen is making millions tax-free teaching his Prosperity Message when he is basically just another self-help guru). I also am very wary of megachurch pastors (I used to attend one and have seen many on television)- they often seem to be some of the craziest people (Jim Jones-Want some Kool Aid?)
man, i see tyrone made it back from counting his chixens, boy you must have a bunch of chixens to count to stay gone for a week………tyrone said we all serve the same GOD, tyrone are you sure you`re a rev, b/c when you say we all serve the same GOD, it makes me look at you out of the corner of my eye, budah, islam is not a real god, so the true Christian faith can`t go there as you suppose……..tyrone you must have had your judgement affected from all them chixens you had to count, but i could understand how it could affect your judgement, to say nothing for all the eye strain, b/c some of them chixens are so small it`s hard to see them…now go back and read the BIble some more tyrone, then come back and tell me how true christians can serve the same GOD. buda is in the ground and has long since became a worm banquet, besides buda never claimed to be God… and i still don`t care what k. copeland said about you, you are alright tyrone………..GOD BLESS ALL…..
Tyrone left one post, and then took off again, he must be having trouble with his chixens again, he may be gone for a week again.
I am shocked beyond belief at the People on this site who follow joel o. i played the clip above three times, and joel clearly said he did`nt know if people had to believe on JESUS CHRIST, WOW, then who do you have to believe on? the BIBLE says in the end days, people would believe a lie rather than the truth. they exchanged the truth of GOD for a lie, and people who follow this feel good teaching are living proof of this. i read where many said they were saved from his teaching, first of all according to the BIBLE, joel is`nt saved himself, so how is it possible you could be saved from listening to a person that needs to be saved himself? the BIBLE makes it crystal clear, JESUS said if you will not confess me before men, neither will i confess you before my FATHER and his Angels. well when joel said on Larry K show he did`nt know if people were wrong for not believing on JESUS CHRIST, i mean g wiz, are you serving joel or JESUS? it`s a slap on the face to GOD to follow this kind of teaching, you say it was horrible the way JESUS was put on the cross, well following this kind of teaching, in reality you help put him there. and i know, people all over this site say judge not. don`t judge a person for something you have done yourself, if you tell people you don`t know if you have to believe on Jesus, then yes, you are`nt supposed to say a word, it`s called righteous judging, and if you dissagre, you are calling GOD a liar, because he says you can. i even read a post on here from a guy named flemming who says he is a revern, the guy was supposed to learn the first day of BIBLE school, that yes, you must believe on JESUS to be saved. the BIBLE says believe on the LORD JESUS and you will be saved, pretty simple, so why do you people listen to someone tell you other wise? it`s bad, but it seems the only passage people know is, judge not, and they have that teaching completely out of contex. it`s all about joel says nice thing`s, or he makes people feel good, or he don`t preach about hell, well the truth is, Jesus spoke twice as much about hell as he did heaven, because he wants us to know it is a real place, so we should want a preacher that will preach about hell rather than just trying to make us feel good. i`m no perfect christian, but i will tell you this, you will never hear me say i don`t know if you have to believe on JESUS, because with my last breath i will tell you, yes you have to believe on JESUS. i read on here about this revern talking about the 50.000 members, well 50.000 members compared with a world population of over 6 billion people don`t seem like much to me, just a drop in the bucket, a hand full. so you should`nt be impressed with the few that go there, and by comparison it is a few. people can choose the path they take, but personally i would`nt follow anyone who did`nt know if you had to believe on JESUS, and i would`nt care if the people numbered 50 million who attended church there.
Hello……Did Jesus pay the penalty for sin or not? It is really simple folks. Every bible says that he became the propitation of not only our sins, but also for the sins of the world. Also Jesus is the saviour of all men, especially those who believe….What was the writer saying here? We have been freed from the curse of sin and death and should no longer continue in it..If people choose to sin( which most do) they will reap the consequences of it. We are admonished to flee from sin and even the appearance of evil. In 1st john there are sayings like “he who sins is of the devil” ‘He who is born of God ceases from sin.” There should be a growing up and a conquering of sin and Love that covers, not blatantly expose and find fault. Do some fasting and praying people, spend some quality time alone and listen to the spirit of God and not just pour out your complaints and wish list. He is prepared to show us things in advance and believe me, the new things that will be revealed will not come through the most reveared theologians. It will be the foolish that will confound the wise. Every man has a place and a job to do,Joel Osteen is doing his job and he is only to be judged by his maker. God is fully able to change his mind and opinions on his ministry style if he so chooses. It might be interesting if you were to find out you are opposing God. It is clear to me that we are to judge nothing before the appointed time. There will be a time to judge for those who have overcome all things, but only after much transformation and a severe processing which many are not called to do. In Revelation you see degrees of closeness to the Father. The Jews have a saying of seventh heaven which I do believe there are. Paul talked of a third heaven. Are there any progressive thinkers left? The message of get ready to die and go to heaven was for previous generations, Now we must prepare to live and see the restoration of all things and put on immortality. That means no death. All of the promises in Revelation are to the overcomers. Lay aside every weight and sin that so easily besets you, including speaking evil of any man which is not becoming to any decent human. It is sad to see anyone resort to putting anyone down in an attempt to make oneself feel usefull or better. What good is accomplished in that???? Blessed are the peacemakers…………Robert
Robert are to saying, yes or no? please give only one answer….are you trying to say it was ok when joel said to the world?, well i don`t know if people are wrong for not believing on JESUS CHRIST, he said that on the LARRY KING show to the nation…..the clip is on this site when he made that statement, so nobody can deny it…..
Tyrone whatau think about all this?, this big debate. i know you`re sitting at the pc, b/c it`s night time, and you can`t count your chixens in the dark.
we done made tyrone so mad he won`t even post anymore,or either he`s gone to visit joel…
mr robert said joel was doing his job, mr robert you seem like a kind and caring person, i could tell by the words you use that you are a sincere person, but please explain how joel is doing his job and full filling his commission to the faith, when he says he don`t know if people are wrong for not believing on JESUS, the only begotten son of GOD the FATHER, without this belief we will all surely perish….joel is a soft spoken person, and i have nothing at all against joel, or for that matter anyone, it`s the teaching, it just in no wise squares with the BIBLE……and yes i`m all for loving one another, because that was one of the things JESUS told us to do, as JESUS acended into heaven, he said you are to Love one another as i have Loved you….i may not understand everyone, but i still Love them, without exception, but i will not condone what JESUS condems. GOD BLESS.
You know there are all kind of ways to get people`s money, now don`t get me wrong, i do believe there is a here after, and i believe i will stand before an all knowing, fair and righteous GOD at the judgement seat of CHRIST, but these people with big mega churches, and it`s a shame that people can`t see through them, they turn over their hard earned money–money–money, over to someone who has everything that these givers would like to have, million dollar homes, the most expensive vehicles, the finest foods, clothes, lavish vacations, and people are ok with that and will support it, when it has nothing to do with serving GOD, you have people that are the victim of a credit card scam, or someone bought on the black market information about you that will allow them to get into your accounts, but here is someone that looks you right in the face, and in reality has access to your money, and you don`t even put up a fight, he smiles and tells you nice things, and it`s as the saying goes, the enemy whips you without ever firing a shot, i mean it`s not a sin to check behind these people, and its not rocket science to play the clip on this site and see and hear for your own self, this person would`nt say you have to believe on JESUS to be saved, more over he did`nt even tell you folks he was wrong, he just says its not his business to get involved in these conversations, well he`s your leader, he`s is supposed to protect his flock but he won`t, he just tells you nice thing`s, and basically says, now everyone is saved and going to heaven, now let`s all go home. if you people like financing someone`s life style, then go for it, but if you want true teaching, find you some ole country preacher who stands for JESUS, then you will be on the right path.
It is ridiculous to me that someone other than God Himself feels that they can condemn anyone for anything. You can continue to quote these passages, and I suggest quoting one on judging other people. Only God knows each and every person for who they are on the INSIDE. Only God knows what each person has been through, done wrong, done right. We as humans don’t own the right to put others in their places. Christianity is a huge religion, but if you open your eyes to the world you will see that there are other customs, beliefs and religions that people have grown up with since they were small children. And just as Chrisitanity is your faith, there are others around the world who have grown up with their own faiths. No person can say which one is right or wrong. There are many teachings of God and many forms of Him througout the world.
One thing all Gods have in common is love. You can have the condemnation, the sins… all the negative. But every God ensures love. Joel Osteen takes away all of the nonsense and places his focus on love and forgivness and fresh starts. Negativity, sins and condemnation will always be there, but for a person to affect so many people on a POSITIVE level is a huge achievment, because what we need is more love, more hope and more faith. In gaining these postive traits within ourselves, it helps many people lead better lives, make better choices and accept God (whoever He is to them) into their lives.
If your focus is the Word of the Bible, then read it, and take away your focus from Joel Osteen who obviously makes you have a negative reaction. Remember, try not to judge. We all walk in different shoes and have walked different paths.
Katie you are wrong according to the Bible, we are to judge, the Bible says we will judge the angels, and it is true, only GOD knows the heart, you were talking about other religions, theres only one, the christian faith, the GOD of Abraham, Isac and Jacob, all others are false, if joel is fulfilling the commision of christianity, then i will ask you the same question i`ve asked others, and when i asked, you did`nt hear from them again, they had no answer…….the question i would ask you katie is this, if joel is doing the will of GOD, why then on the Lary King show did joel say?,he did`nt know if people were wrong for not believeing in JESUS CHRIST, I will say this to you katie, and i say it with love and respect……JESUS was GOD in human flesh, he walked among his creation for 33 year`s, during his earthly sojourn, so to say, well i don`t know if people are wrong for not believeing on Jesus, wheather you know it or not, you just told GOD you did`nt know if you have to believe on him or not, well katie if you don`t have to believe on GOD, then tell me dear, who should we believe on……….that`s all people are saying, there`s no hate or dissrespect for anyone, and people don`t hate joel, they would just like to see him stop teaching the nonsence, and when you make a statement to the world dear, and you say you don`t know if you have to believe, then you have to call it what it is, pure simple nonsence, nonsence b/c you don`t confees the living GOD, the one who spoke and the world lept into existence. so the BIBLE says not to judge falsely katie, play the clip on this webbsite where little brother joel said to the world on Larry King, he did`nt know if people were wrong for not believeing on GOD……then come back and explain it to me and others on this site. the real truth is, katie you nor anyone else that has lived, past, present or future can dissmiss the fact, YES YOU DO HAVE TO BELIEVE ON GOD, GOD BLESS EVERYONE ON THIS SITE……..
Katie i noticed you said nobody has the right to condemn anyone, well truth is Katie, nobody on this Earth can condemn anyone, only GOD has that power, but we can judge someone when they make an untrue statement saying they don`t know if people are wrong for not believeing on JESUS, it`s called righteous judging, and GOD expects us to do it, it`s part of your walk with GOD, the lover of your soul, JESUS was fully GOD and fully Man……..
Joel Osteen is probably one of the greatest motivational speakers, all I can say is that when the Lord comes back i don’t want to be anywhere near him. If you slap God’s name on your self help video and call it a religion man you’re in to getting whats coming to you thats for sure. I am youth pastor of a very small church and i wouldn’t have it any other way. Don’t get me wrong we’re growing but you don’t need a stadium sized church to find God, in our lil 100-120 seater church the power of God moves like non other place, yeah we preach the Bible, yes there is a way to heaven, and yes there is a hell, and our ministry does have the call of God in their life. I’m just life Joel i’m a part of my daddy’s church, but not my physical daddy, when i gave up law school for bible school ppl asked why? i said i must be about my father’s business (words of Jesus), that’s what its all about
Joel Osteen’s book has helped me get closer to Christ.
I think you should spend your time going after Hollywood.
You should be very careful about slandering leaders (not false teachers).
The problem with Christianity today is not Joel Osteen, but the fraternity of right-wing, white supremist males who don’t really care about Jesus Christ or His teachings.
They just care about supporting Israel at any cost (which is completely unBiblical)
They’re the true false teachers who make money off the sheep.
well dear i don`t have anything to do with hollywood, i agree they are corrupt, i don`t know what sex, male or female, has to do with anything, you touched on the subject about suprimist males, but give me your answer, you believe it is ok for someone in the ministry to say, they don`t know if people are wrong for not believing on GOD, actually he said christ JESUS, whitch is GOD, JESUS was fully GOD and fully man, he cloaked himself in human flesh and dwelt among his creation for 33 years…….but anyway you believe it is ok for a person in the ministry to say they don`t know if people are wrong for not believing on GOD for why?, and i`m not slandering anyone, that`s not what the christian faith is about, i just told the truth, refute it and prove me wrong dear, truth is you can`t, neither can anyone else, and why a person would won`t to listen to anything a person says, when they won`t tell you that you must believe on GOD, is a mystery to me
Concerned believer, how is it possible for someone to get you closer to CHRIST when they say they don`t even know if you have to believe on him to start with?, just wondering about that one, sure don`t make sence.
Each person has their own beliefs. I absolutely believe in a higher power and only about two and a half years ago did I allow Christ back into my life. Listen, I was raised Catholic and I was taught to FEAR God, FEAR the minor sins we make in everyday life and FEAR my own God given destiny. Truth be told, I don’t believe in the Catholic Church anymore and I did open up to Christianity and The Word and the Bible. No, I am not a perfect person, no one will ever be perfect, but I do know that when someone can speak to your heart, and the message is a positive one that it can change your life. It can get you back into a community church, it can help you be stronger in everyday life and be kinder to people. What is wrong with Joel Osteen putting a positive message out there? Sometimes people need to know that they’re not rejected by God and that they need to repent and offer forgivness to others and their own selves. And they need to set a goal each and every day to be a better person.
Look at Joel Osteen’s background. Most know where the man came from. He is/was uneducated, was poor, spoken of himself as shy and reserved, but yes he can speak in front of a large crowd. He chokes on Larry King live and becomes a victum of attack. Answering Larry King’s questions is a tricky thing to do because the man pretty much twists words around like a lawyer and makes people say things they really don’t mean portray in their words. I could never imagine having to speak to someone like that who danced around my answers and threw a million questins at me just to make me sweat in my seet in front of a million viewers. So what that he’s making money? He’s earned it from all of the people who give to him to keep that LARGE Church around just because he conveys a powerful message. Shallow? Maybe. But I’m not going to judge him. Heck, if I could get my dreams to come true, I would have the good life too as most people would. I think many people just knock him because he is successful, he’s a good speaker and he has a positive message.
I truly don’t believe that Joel Osteen was trying to say that Athiests and Muslims don’t go hell. He just didn’t want to outright condemn anyone on natinonal television.
so you`re saying Larry King made Joel say what he said, Larry made me do it….reminds me of Flip Wilson, the devil made me do it…….I don`t see where Larry K twisted joel or any other guest arm…..no matter what they say to you, just stay focused and say yes Larry, yes world, yes people, if you don`t have to believe on JESUS, then spend your time doing things other than going to church, because you are just wasting your time, wasting your time, that is if you don`t believe on JESUS..i listened to what you said, i watched the clip and i did`nt see or hear any trick questions such as an attorney would ask as you supposed…Larry King is not in the business to put words in someones mouth, or to trip them up with some trick questions, i mean that don`t even make sense, Larry don`t cross examine anyone….but i am glad you have a new life, and i hope you grow stronger everyday.
I think the doctrine at lakewood needs some serious fixing, people are told such outlandish stories, i mean the prosperity teacher tells you what you want to hear..Preachers say some pretty far out things, like John Hagee who said the Katrina storm in New Orleans was from GOD because as he put it, the city had a certain level of sin that had to be dealt with, so GOD dealt with it. now look at the state of Texas, Ike is cleaning house, i wonder if he will say that about the state where he resides, i mean there are good GOD fearing people in New Orleans, and for some mental midget to say that about New Orleans, and now his state is being whipped up on, i mean go figure…you people if you got any sense, you better keep your focus on what joel is telling you also, because i promise you he is all wet.by the way the web page on hagee saying this is at the first page of the osteen thing, these people are money hungry, they want, and are taking it, from unsuspecting victims, that`s how they live like kings and queens, and you people are just the poor little worker bees.
I wonder if all of these people at lakewood would give me some money if i told them something that would make them feel good….i promise i will make you feel better than joel, if yall will share some of them coins with me.
