Joel Osteen: Megachurch Televangelist Pastor without Christ?! SCANDAL!

SUPER FUNNY UPDATE ON JOEL OSTEEN: Check out Joel Osteen’s super scammy books he sells on Amazon (24!!!) including his self help BS book
and his hilarious book on “Wise Choices”. If only he’d follow his own advice!
LOL! For all you Joel Osteen fanboys – remember he just cynically feeds on you to make money so he can live his fancy lifestyle. He couldn’t care less about you in reality.

Popular televangelist preacher Joel Osteen has been named the “Most Influential Christian in America” in 2006 by the Church Report, was one ofJoel Osteen Scandal Man Barbara Walters, “10 Most Fascinating People of 2006 and operates an extraordinarily profitable religious scam operation that probably will one day end in scandal.

So who is this guy who has appeared on 60 Minutes, Larry King Live and has his own television shows?

Who is this guy who thinks he can share the mighty name of Joel?

Joel Osteen has not yet had major sex scandals, drug scandals or molestation scandals like the other megachurch pastors: Pat Robertson, Al Sharpton, Ted Haggard, Paul Barnes, D.E. (Earl) Paulk, Jimmy Swaggert, Jim Bakker, William Dodd and too many others to possibly mention here. What Joel Osteen DOESN’T do is the real question.

In his sermons, Joel Osteen does not talk about God. Joel Osteen instead talks about almost everything except God. He has a television ministry, a massive church, $43 million a year in tithes and another $36 million a year in mailed in donations, but he won’t talk about God. He, like Pastor Kevin Gerald, talks about more pleasant topics, such as donating money to him and positive thinking. He has written two books, the second of which sold 3 million copies, but his books don’t really talk about God either. It’s just his bland and boring advice on how to live a happy life that has been thought of by other people first, “Think positively about yourself” and other such drivel.

What does Joel Osteen say when people ask him about why he does not discuss God or Jesus Christ or sin or what you need to do to go to Heaven? “That’s not my gift.” What are you doing being a freaking megachurch pastor then, bonehead?!

If you are going to try to operate a religious scam, at least make it religious! I actually think that Joel Osteen operating a secular “Christian” church is more of a scandal than Ted Haggard and his transsexual prostitutes and meth! (Though not nearly as funny of a scandal).

Joel Osteen didn’t even found his megachurch; instead the business was handed down to him by his father. When Joel Osteen became the head pastor of his church, he had only preached ONE sermon in his entire life- and that was the week before. Joel Osteen does not have any training in the Bible (seminary, degrees, etc.), which is probably why he doesn’t want to talk about it much.Joel Osteen & Barbara Walters

My loyal readers have pointed out to me many times that the ridiculous actions of leaders in religion do not invalidate their beliefs. They are absolutely correct on this. However, there has never been anything that VALIDATES their beliefs either. The Flying Spaghetti Monster has the same amount of evidence on his side as most other gods. Here is another question I put to you: Please find me a single megachurch pastor who is NOT a scam-running, meth-eating, prostitute-abusing criminal. Anyone?

Update March 3, 2008 on JOEL OSTEEN:

Many people have been discussing Joel Osteen in the comments and making statements about his beliefs, behavior and preaching methods that show a distinct lack of understanding of his profit driven motives. Below I have added a video of Joel Osteen on Larry King Live where he dances around the core question of the Christian faith: What does it take to get to heaven? Joel Osteen hems and haws and won’t even say that people of different religions won’t make it to heaven.

The partial transcript for Joel Osteen’s interview with Larry King is below. I have basically pulled out the most pertinent excerpts to the point I have tried to make on televangelist Joel Osteen.

Televangelist Joel Osteen Discusses Christianity with Larry King

First is Larry King’s impressive introduction of Joel Osteen:

LARRY KING, CNN HOST: Tonight, Joel Osteen, evangelism’s hottest rising star, pastor for the biggest congregation in the United States… Pastor Joel Osteen is here for the hour…. Joel Osteen is the author of the number one “New York Times” best-seller, “Your Best Life Now.” There you see its cover. “Seven Steps to Living at Your Full Potential.” There is now a compendium been published called “Your Best Life Now Journal,” a guide to reaching that full potential. Joel Osteen is pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. His father before him. He has been called the smiling preacher.

Larry King knows Joel Osteen Ministries is huge and tries to play nice with him throughout the interview.

KING: Why are you a preacher?

JOEL OSTEEN: You know, I never was for 17 years. I worked with my dad there at the church. He tried to get me to minister. I didn’t have it in me. I worked behind the scenes. I loved doing production and things. But when my father died, I just knew — I don’t know how to explain it, it sounds kind of odd, but I just knew down to here I was supposed to step up to the plate and pastor the church. And it was odd because I had never preached before. But I just knew I was supposed to do it.

Hmmm… either God gave him the “calling” or he was scared of losing his father’s multi-million dollar preaching business.

KING: But don’t you think if people don’t believe as you believe, they’re somehow condemned?

JOEL OSTEEN: You know, I think that happens in our society. But I try not to do that. I tell people all the time, preached a couple Sundays about it. I’m for everybody. You may not agree with me, but to me it’s not my job to try to straighten everybody out. The Gospel called the good news. My message is a message of hope, that’s God’s for you. You can live a good life no matter what’s happened to you. And so I don’t know. I know there is condemnation but I don’t feel that’s my place.

Joel Osteen comes right out and says that he will refuse to condemn sinners. He is too afraid, it’s not his place, he just wants to spew bland niceties… hmmm.

LARRY KING: Where were you ordained? OSTEEN: I was ordained from the church there, Lakewood, under my dad’s ministry.

LARRY KING: So you didn’t go to seminary?

JOEL OSTEEN: No, sir, I didn’t.

LARRY KING: They can just make you a minister?

JOEL OSTEEN: You can, you can.

Wow. Joel Osteen never even attended Bible school or classes for future preachers. No wonder he is so clueless about Biblical theology.

LARRY KING: Is it hard to lead a Christian life?

JOEL OSTEEN: I don’t think it’s that hard. To me it’s fun. We have joy and happiness. Our family — I don’t feel like that at all. I’m not trying to follow a set of rules and stuff. I’m just living my life.

LARRY KING: But you have rules, don’t you?

JOEL OSTEEN: We do have rules. But the main rule to me is to honor God with your life. To life a life of integrity. Not be selfish. You know, help others. But that’s really the essence of the Christian faith.

Of course its not hard for Joel Osteen to lead a Christian life. BECAUSE HE’S NOT!!!

LARRY KING: What if you’re Jewish or Muslim, you don’t accept Christ at all?

JOEL OSTEEN: You know, I’m very careful about saying who would and wouldn’t go to heaven. I don’t know …

LARRY KING: If you believe you have to believe in Christ? They’re wrong, aren’t they?

JOEL OSTEEN: Well, I don’t know if I believe they’re wrong. I believe here’s what the Bible teaches and from the Christian faith this is what I believe. But I just think that only God with judge a person’s heart. I spent a lot of time in India with my father. I don’t know all about their religion. But I know they love God. And I don’t know. I’ve seen their sincerity. So I don’t know. I know for me, and what the Bible teaches, I want to have a relationship with Jesus.

The last exchange between Larry King and Joel Osteen hits the nail on the head of everything that is wrong with the Joel Osteen Ministry. All it is is fluff. He can’t even defend the single core belief of Christianity- that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is a requirement to gain access to Heaven.

Below is more Joel Osteen preaching videos. Joel Osteen preaches on cheesy, transparent topics that have nothing to do with the Bible. He twists scripture around to serve his own purposes of mass produced drivel. My question to Joel Osteen is where in the Bible does it say Christians have a “right to total victory” over physical pain, financial problems and other issues? Did he completely miss the book of Job or the trials and tribulations that the early Christians had to suffer under the Romans? I don’t think that Joel Osteen has ever even read the Bible.

DO NOT LET JOEL OSTEEN CONTINUE TO GET AWAY WITH HIS BIBLE-CONTRADICTING, POLITICALLY CORRECT AND PROFIT SEEKING DRIVEL! JOEL OSTEEN’S SCANDAL IS OUTRAGEOUS!

Jesus once went into a temple and threw out currency traders and salespeople…. WHO WILL THROW THE SCANDAL CREATING JOEL OSTEEN OUT OF GOD’S ASTRODOME TEMPLE?

Further discussion: Joel Osteen megachurch building – Joel Osteen paid the city of Houston $90,000,000 to remodel the former home of NBA team Houston Rockets and an additional $14,000,000 to lease the building for 30 years. Preacher Joel Osteen’s megachurch does not even own the building! Pastor Joel Osteen doesn’t care though- he’ll be dead by then and this church is all about him. The most interesting thing about the new church is that there is not a SINGLE cross in the whole building! Want to know why? Joel Osteen says that he wants to remove all “stumbling blocks” from the way of people coming to his church and being comfortable. Since when has Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross been a STUMBLING BLOCK for faith?! The scandal here is that the Joel Osteen is doing and saying blasphemous things… and no one is calling him out on it. The pastor of the largest church in America won’t even follow the basic tenets of Christianity!

Joel Osteen is unable to even keep his own family under control. Pastor Joel Olsteen’s wife, Victoria Osteen, has been fined $3,000 and is being sued for assaulting a flight attendant on her first-class trip to the playground of the rich and famous Vail, Colorado.

Bible Verses that Condemn Megachurch Pastor Joel Osteen

I have had quite a few people post in the comments asking what does it really matter what Joel Osteen believes if he’s helping people? If Joel Osteen teaches nice things, isn’t it okay for him to be a Christian pastor? I understand that my opinions of right and wrong should not sway you, but I ask you to consider what the Bible says on the matter. First, let’s take the Bible verses that are the standard definition of who is a Christian:

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NIV)

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 (NIV)

For the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23 (NIV)

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faithand this not from yourselves, it is the gift of Godnot by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV)

To summarize, the only way to be saved and go to heaven is by the grace of Jesus and by faith in God. These are the basic verses that every Christian who has accepted Christ knows. Now for the verses that clearly state that only Christians who believe the above will go to Heaven:

-John 3:3: no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.
-John 3:15: everyone who believes in him [Jesus] may have eternal life.
-John 3:18: whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of Gods one and only Son.
-John 14:6: Jesus answered: No one comes to the Father except through me
-Acts 3:23: And it shall be, that every soul that shall not hearken to that prophet, shall be utterly destroyed from among the people. (ASV)
-Acts 4:12: Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved
-Romans 10:9: Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved
-Hebrews 9:28: he [Christ] will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him
-1 John 5:12: he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

The nine quoted verses above clearly state that only Christians can go to Heaven. Now, if Joel Osteen truly believed and was a pastor of a Bible-based church, would he preach a false message of hope to people? Joel Osteen is essentially subverting the word of God, which motivated me to write this post. I am not sure why Joel would do this, but my postulation (as above) is that he is doing it for financial gain. Joel Osteens father was a pastor and he has been a pastor for a long time now and he should know better than most people the MOST basic tenets of Christianity. Ignorance is an excuse for new Christians (as long as they work at it), but not for a shepherd of the flock.

Do you know what the Bible says about false teachers like Joel Osteen?

-2 Timothy 4:3,4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth , and be turned aside to fables.

-Matthew 7:15,16 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits.

-Acts 20:29-31 For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves . Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.

-2 Peter 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

-2 Peter 3:16,17 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures. You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked;

-Colossians 2:8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

-Hebrews 13:9 Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them.

The Bible is very, very harsh in its condemnation of people who change, twist or leave out parts of its doctrine. False leaders (Joel Osteen), to me, are more disgusting than someone who is a hypocrite (Ted Haggard).

For more information on mega church pastor Joel Osteen you can search Google with the terms joelosteen.com or joel osteen.com to find the man’s website. You could also use terms such as Joel Osteen Website or Joel Osteen Lakewood Church for other sorts of information on him.

Why do I care what Joel Osteen does or doesnt do in his church, especially seeing that I am not religious? People who are cheats, fakes, and phonies really bother me. I have written quite a few other posts on various community leaders who lead people astray for their own personal gain. My tax dollars go to support Joel Osteen (every church in America is exempt from taxes, but Joel Osteen is making millions tax-free teaching his Prosperity Message when he is basically just another self-help guru). I also am very wary of megachurch pastors (I used to attend one and have seen many on television)- they often seem to be some of the craziest people (Jim Jones-Want some Kool Aid?)

  1. “For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” Mt. 24:24

  2. Magandi,
John 6:70, Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?
I’m sure Jesus didn’t want to start his ministry with devils but people can obviously start good and later be lead astray. Judas had a love for money and let that get the best of him. He betrayed Jesus for a few silver pieces. Joel Olsteen in my opinion has betrayed Jesus by not alowing his precious cross to be seen at his church as to not offend the people. I don’t think it’s the cross Joel is offended with but the one who represent that cross. Thats right, Joel is offended at the True Jesus, Not the fake Jesus he has portrayed. If you think that’s being judgemental, oh well. Jesus himself said in John 7:24, Judge not according to appearance, but judge rightous judgement.

  4. Don’t be an animal and try to ignore everything that’s going on around you like Joel Osteen is suggesting. Pick up your cross and follow Jesus; keep the Holy Spirit warm inside of you; reach out and try to help those around you and God will bless you beyond your wildest dreams not only is this lifetime but for all eternity.
There is a special inner peace and comfort waiting for those who follow Jesus with a sincere heart.
Stop lusting for the seven steps to earthly happiness in this life like Joel’s book is suggesting. Seek ye first the heavenly kingdom and God will bless you. Your basket will be filled to the top; shaken down and filled to the top overflowing.

  5. I was fortunate enough to see Joel speak at the Elevate Cathedrial of Frisco, TX last evening (2/12/2012) at the request of Pastor Keith Kraft.
I am not clear that anyone truly knows the truth about GOD; but we all put our faith we we believe it should go. Joel did speak about God, how God love us and has a plan for us. How without God we can’t accomplish the HUGE things in life we so cherish. I don’t know how you can say he doesn’t put God in his Sermons. I have walked the path of life and only when I put God by my side and believed we walked together was I successful. When I swayed away from the Catholic Church i.e. God, my life began to fall into shambles. I now realize that God is the only one who can help me have the wisdom, fortitude, power, and strength to do whatever I want to do – as long as both God and I work together. For without God, I am nothing. I will be successful by ‘luck’ alone and by hard work; but that too will fall apart some day.
Please see Joel as a Pastor (how ever you get to be a Pastor) – a Preacher of Good, which so many of us need today. Numbers bring people together, faith keeps them together, and if everyone has one believe; the belief that God is almighty, then so be it. Isn’t that better than believe in the negative things that surround us every day in life. I have made a commitment this year to avoid any ‘negativity’ in my world which I call “My Bubble”. I don’t care who it is, family friends, co-workers. If they are negative, bring negative things bout the past; I void them from being in “My Bubble”. I only want Postivie Individuals, people who believe in success.
You see, my dad was a factory worker who made $73/ a week. (Yes, that is right $73/ a week). So you can see he had very little money. But he gave me a million dollars worth of wisdom.
I only heard my dad say one ‘curse’ word in his entire life and that was in anger toward my mother. But just ‘ONCE”.
My dad told me this: “If you believe in something, work hard for it, there is nothing you can’t accomplish”. Now being a Catholic and a believer in GOD, he left that part out, but he knew that GOD controlled our future. How do I know this, because he would never allow anyone to say the word “God Dammit” in frustration. His response was “God didn’t do anything wrong to you, why are you saying that to HIM”.
Let there be more Joel’s and Keith’s as Pastors around the world. We need more than that.
I’ve been going to Catholic church most of my life; and just recently began to go to the non-demoninationl Church. I have learned more about being a better person and believing in God than I did in all my years of Catholosism. I now learn how to treat people with respect, something the Catholic Church never taught me, not even Catacism classes. It was all derived from the Roman days, the bible was preached during every sermon – and I am very confident that 90 percent of the Church Patrons didn’t understand one blessed thing when they left the church. Yes, bricks were lifted off my shoulder, but I didn’t become a better person. I got divorced because I didn’t have the respect in people that I now have.
So, long life the Pastors like Joel and Keith; and whatever they do, whatever they believe in; they have helped me be a better person.
Thank you kindly for reading this. And please don’t ever knock someone for their success, even if it’s for money. Because so many people believe in the Pastors. Just count the number of people who attend those services versus how many people attend Catholic Church on Sunday. Why are the numbers so far apart. Because people believe, because people are not able to be better people.
    May God Bless you all.
    Thomas

  6. Amen to you too Jock! May the Lord keep blessing and using you to spread His truth to others.
I found this article on google and thought it was really good:

Is bigger better? According to Joel Osteen of Lakewood Church in Houston Texas it is. He claims that the increase in attendance at his church speaks for itself about the message coming from him to the congregation. Osteen truly believes that if the congregation continues to grow then that is a sign from God that everything is ok there at his church. Osteen admits that he preaches about everyday living and life and not about sin, wrongful living, death, repentance or salvation. Of course his church will continue to grow. Unless you haven’t seen the new building, it is the old Houston Rockets National Basketball Association home. It has been completely remodeled for a mere $90,000,000.00, and guess what? The church doesn’t even own the building. It rents it from the city of Houston. If I remember right, the lease was for somewhere around $14,000,000.00 for 30 years. To me this sounds like a huge amount of money to spend for something you do not own.

The thing that stands out the most about this new building is that there is not one cross in the sanctuary to be seen. Osteen claims that he does not want a cross in the building because he says it was better to remove any and all stumbling blocks from the building so that the unsaved would be more comfortable coming to the services. BLASPHEMY

That is the same thing as saying: “The Cross of Christ is a stumbling block to someone!” How Blasphemous can one person be before the Mighty Lord God decides to strike him down. This is amazing to me that someone would even think something like that and still claim to be a Christian.

I can tell you the problem as it actually is! Joel Osteen is not a Christian, he is a Religious person. The world unfortunately is full of Religious people. Take the Mormons for example. The Mormons are definitely religious, but I would not classify them as Christian by any means. I know this all sounds harsh and judgmental, but according to 1Corinthians 10:15, “I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.” The Lord is telling us right here to judge what someone says and to judge it against His Word.

Joel Osteen is a fine man as far as that he seems to be a really nice guy, a good father and husband in a earthly sense, but as for being a Preacher? I don’t think he should have stepped into the pulpit unless he heard the call from GOD, not his father John Osteen. That is what the problem with preachers today is, a huge majority of them are called by everything under the sun, except the SON. Unless a man is called by God to preach His Gospel, then he shouldn’t be in the pulpit. Today it is too much of just being in a job situation rather than Preaching The Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Joel Osteen made the comment that his dad ask him to fill in for him on a Sunday when John was dying in the hospital and Joel at first said no but later repented and said ok. Here is Joel’s remarks concerning this.

I just got up there and told stories. I was so glad when it was over, I said, ‘I’ll never do this again in my life.’
That was the beginning of his public ministry; he just got up and told “stories.” Compare this to what the Lord said in the Bible in 2 Timothy 4:3,4 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

Ring any bells. Fables, stories, well there you have it. Osteen should be ashamed of himself and ask repentance from the Lord for his story telling scheme and calling it preaching. but, he’s still at it today, telling stories that tickle the ears of the pew sitters instead of preaching the uncompromising Word of God like he should be.

So bigger is not always better.

    Blessings,
    Robert Wise

  7. Joel Osteen is great! He is doing lovely work for God.Thank God for giving us respectable people like Joel and others.Joel, you are the best! Please continue your fantastic work. You played a huge part in me giving my life to God.

  8. It’s interesting, Thomas, that you have exchanged the false gospel of salvation through works for the false gospel of not needing salvation at all.

The true gospel is this: All men have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord; for it is by grace we are saved through faith, and that is not of ourselves, it is the gift of God not as a result of works, so that no man may boast. If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name by which we must be saved.

If you were in Iowa, wanted to get to New York, got directions from someone, but you ended up in California instead, you would probably be unhappy even though the trip may have been a pleasant one. These false teachers are giving directions that will take you to a place you do not want to go. No matter how pleasant, positive, prosperous or productive your life may be, one day you will die. Your eternal destination will be sealed by the path you choose today.

“It is appointed man once to die and then judgment.,” Hebrews 9:27. You will not get a second chance. Sin is real and separates man from God. That may not be a feel-good message, but hadn’t you rather be told that you have cancer while you still have a chance to do something about it? Ignoring it will not make it go away. Joel will never tell you that you have cancer of the soul and that believing in Jesus as your Lord and Savior is the only cure.

Jesus told the religious leaders of His day in John 8:41-44 that they were not worshipping His Father, the God of truth; they were worshipping their father, the devil who is the father of lies. Those are the only two choices – The Truth or the lie. There is only one Truth; it is manifested in the person of the Lord, Jesus Christ who said “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” There are countless lies, and they manifest themselves through everything that is not Christ. You have to choose Jesus, or you’re in Satan’s domain by default.

False teachers focus on the here and now, but that’s all temporary stuff and will be gone in a blink. God tells us to keep our eyes on things that are not seen, the things above, because they are eternal. He loves you so much. He wants you to know the truth. Jesus said in John 8:31-32, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” You have to read the Bible yourself to find out what’s true and what’s false. Ask the Lord to show you.

False teachers can be found in any church of any size, not just mega churches. Jesus said one of the signs of His soon return would be the multiplication of false teachers who will mislead many. Jesus is coming soon. Maranatha!

  9. Now thats enough! I can’t believe you born again christians have the time to judge another christians life! You claim to know God but by your works you deny him. I don’t remember God sending Joshua to a Bible College soon after Moses’ death He just called and assigned him his task. Did you call Pastor Joel Osteen? Jesus was rejected by his own people. I’m not shocked why you do the same because he said ‘they will reject and persecute you just as they did to me’. Be very Careful of what you say because EVERY ONE OF US SHALL GIVE AN ACCOUNT OF HIMSELF TO GOD! Read PSALMS 105vs15!

  10. Steven Dean,
The bible teaches that true christians would be rejected by “worldly people” not kingdom people. Joel is definently accepted in America by most everybody. Not a good sign. Read some of my posts above.
Also: you said, “You claim to know God but by your works you deny him”. Now who is judging who??

  11. Hi, Steven. One of the best pastors I’ve ever had had no formal training, but he spent hours in the Word every day. On the other hand, I’ve listened to pastors who have degrees out the wazoo and don’t know diddly about the Lord. The issue here is what is being taught.

Believers are told in 1 John 4:1 that we’re not to believe every spirit, but to test them to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. The Bereans were commended in Acts 17:11 because they examined the Scriptures daily to see if what they had been told was true. Hebrews 5:14 encourages us to become mature Christians who have spent time in and have grown in the knowledge of the Word will be able to discern good and evil.

Isn’t it our responsibility to sound the alarm when the gospel is being denied?

  12. Brethren, work ur own salvation wth fear en trmbling. If i may ask, When r u wrkng ur own salvtion wen u r busy wrkng out J.Osteen’s. Hav u evr thot ths way, “wat is my own position in heaven? 13. The author of this article obviously spent a great deal of time and energy researching ways to criticize and diminish anything positive about Joel Olesten’s message. This article does nothing more than focus on negativity, fostering judgment and criticism, which ultimately results in hate. I don’t know what Joel Olesten’s “underlying” intentions or motives are. What I do know is any broadcast I’ve ever seen of him has been nothing but positive and inspiring. What’s wrong with that??? I’d be more worried about articles like this one which try to find something bad in anything good; spreading negativity and paranoia. This author’s intentions are what should be questioned; not Joel Olesten’s.

  14. I advise now to go and take the bible and preach the gospel of JESUS because even if you show the people that somebody is a demon agent or what your work is unproductive as such because you will not finish them all while this is the time the bible says they will come false christs and we are not sure either if you are not because i laugh at those who know fake miracles while they have not experienced the power of miracles by their command,, i ask them who is that spirit that can show you somebody is a servant of satan while themselves dont show their GOD, brethren i repeat again the author of this article should start preaching the gospel here.. in fact you are not wise until wisdom is woking in you so then you are not right at the end if the route to take you there is wrong in the first place..,, also the truth is just it and whatever way you will try to prove it or disprove,it is just there, sometimes your judgement doesnt change the scene because GOD is the overseer;;; It was just the adjacent past years whe GOD taught me how not to see the badge in my fellows eyes while i havent finished the ones on my own eyes especially the ones which dont cause the sight to go down but they change the colour of what you see,, too bad my fellows, love you all

  15. Interesting to see christians bash and judge. And when someone disagrees with them they get angry and say harmful things uncalled for to others when the topic is someone else.

  18. This is to all the so called christians that are critcizing and judging Joel Osteen.Sounds to me like your envious and jealous of his success. You are hypocritical christians. This is why I stay home and watch Joel Osteen on Sunday mornings. So that I don’t have to meet christians like you.You are the worst kind there is,you are why some run from christianity. You say your all about Jesus, I don’t think Jesus would think too much of your negative comments either. You need to check yourselves.Just think all of this time you spent speaking ill of Joel Osteen, you could have been doing something charitable, helping someone in need.Christian actions speak louder than christian words.I’m sure there were many that did not approve of the way Jesus preached.Jesus didn’t judge he accepted people who were thieves, prostitutes, etc. If any of these people came into your church you would be the first to condemn and remove them from your house of worship.Christians like you do not practice what you preach. You need to go read your bible over and over again until you fully understand it.
