I have been quite fortunate in my life to have had a great many friends, including best friends I was quite close to. I spent my 20s and early 30s when I wasn’t working doing things with my friends like rock climbing or traveling or going out places. I had a lot of very close friends in college. Many of these friends have been my friends for life. I have stayed in contact with them and am very appreciative of having them in my life.
I was talking with my wife though and we both agreed that though we loved our friends, if we were forced to choose, we would pick any one of our children over all the friends we had ever had combined… Such is the love of a parent for their child.
