Anyone who tries to sell you Google Adwords management at a fixed cost is probably trying to scam you. Google Adwords management costs are actually made up of two components:
- Direct Google Fees- money you pay to Google for CPC or CRM ads
- Adwords Manager Fees- if you choose to use a manager, this is the money that you pay him/her
Adwords managers who try to lump Google’s fees and their management fees together are probably trying to scam you. Why? Because if they can hide their fees in with Googles, they can charge you much higher rates. I try to be as transparent as possible about these costs and share both numbers with clients so they know what they are paying for.
Let me demonstrate with an example of a client who has a budget of $1,500 per month for Adwords:
With Coalition Technologies, that client would pay us directly $299/month for management and the remaining $1,201 would be paid directly from the client to Google. The client can login to their Adwords account at anytime and see all of the work that we do.
With other scammy companies, the manager bills the full $1,500 amount to clients and then often only spends $500 of it on the client’s campaign and pockets the other $1,000. Sly, right?
Never sign up for Adwords management with a company that claims fixed costs.
Nice blog and incredibly nicely put for reading. Highlights the contract details clearly.
