Outsourcing is not a good solution, we should support our local manufacturers who have to follow our ethical rules on labor treatment, safety, and environmental damage. Outsourcing just allows the worst abuses to happen elsewhere. We should get rid of labor and environmental rules if we want to allow outsourcing.

Private equity is generally a pretty bad deal. It is run by big ego “high finance” guys who borrow tons of government money, then buy businesses. They try to goose the businesses by cutting expenses, usually muscle, and by destroying a businesses good reputation. You can see what they did to Toys R US and Sears, here is what they have done to hospitals:

The system is designed to keep us slaving away. Even for those of us who “escape” it a bit, that can only be temporary before it sucks us or our progeny back in.

Excellent article. It shows functionally why meritocracies perform much better than socialistic systems.

The university system is a titanic waste of resources. Let’s switch to a trusted testing system. Basically, have a thorough knowledge and skill test for any career (doctor, engineer, lawyer, etc) that anyone can pay to take and pass.

In 2023, the US had less than 47,000 gun deaths. A large majority of those deaths were suicides, which, in my opinion, everyone in a free country should have the right to do.

Think of how many people died in the Ukraine – Russia war or the Palestine – Israel war. Our gun rights in America are a very strong discouragement to anyone invading us.… read more “Guns”

All medical procedures should have video recordings.

TIL a Virginia man discovered he had unintentionally left his phone recording before undergoing a colonoscopy, and while he was under anesthesia, it captured audio of medical staff mocking him. In 2015, a jury awarded him $500,000 for defamation, medical malpractice, and punitive damages.
