Too many of us are becoming algorithmically controlled people. I like to see Facebook and HN likes and comments. I saw an extreme example of a YouTuber kid who pranked his own wife on their wedding day with bad vows, and got her on OnlyFans. Pretty gross. Some people see this as comedic, but government bureaucrats and politicians have always had a sucking desire for control over our lives. They will keep pushing until all of us are in strait jackets living in a nightmare.

We must resist and do everything we can to shrink government power and grow our personal rights and freedoms.

Government bureaucracy and standing armies are antithetical to freedom, and to winning wars. Wait to build weapons till they are needed or you just will build weapons to fight the last war.

The free market has been the single most beneficial invention mankind has ever had as it has enabled most of the rest of the innovations. Free speech, freedom of association, and individual rights over government power that is the hallmark of true democracy is what makes life good for most people. These stories get up voted on HN because we all dream of getting something for nothing. But the problem is that if we all get something for nothing, no one is left to make anything and we all end up with nothing. Resist the siren appeal of easy outs and work hard and build what you want.

Socialism always collapses into authoritarianism. Socialism sounds nice in theory.. “Everyone will work and contribute and get fair rewards!”, but then a few people don’t work and still get rewards. The far left site Reddit had a post recently go viral in which a young woman complains about farmers being predominantly Republican and says America should not support farmers. She claims that people in cities subsidize farmers. These are claims the far left has been making for awhile now.
