Midnight visit to the in-n-out in Hollywood after exploring the touristy part of the Hollywood boulevard with all the stars in the pavement and Jersey people in the streets.

Brian and I are at Hollywood Forever Cemetery to watch The Sting, an old classic with a couple thousand other people. Everyone brought snacks, wine and beer. I brought a good bottle of wine, fontina cheese and crackers.

The system of patents and trademarks is horribly dysfunctional in America. Titanic patent troll companies are crushing innovation by having their lawyers patent every silly and obvious thing they can think of then sue entrepreneurs whenever they violate those patents. I think that the length of patent periods should be drastically shortened to 7 years. I just reported a dumpster fire outside of my building in Venice. Stinks.

It’s closing time at Ross right now and I just found three new pairs of athletic shorts for $9.99 apiece and a pair of Stacy Adams dress shoes for $32.95 ($65 on shoes.com). Probably will head over to Kennys now for a game of chess.

In an interesting post on Tim Ferriss’s blog he describes that being the best at one particular thing is better than putting equal effort into being good at something much harder.
