Socialism is unstable. When it starts, everyone is excited and happy about the revolution. Then a few people slack and do not contribute, but still get the same as others. Human nature is lazy. Soon everyone is not contributing. Then the leaders have to force people to work. Thus socialism always turns into dictatorship, whether it be with Stalin or Hitler or Mao or Maduro or Castro.
Socialism, in all its forms, sounds so reasonable, so appealing that for any young person with empathy advocating it is almost instinctive. The problem with government schools in America is that they train students to see the government in a positive light. Public schools are funded and controlled by the government, thus they teach that socialism is good. Then young adults have to spend the rest of their lives learning the truth in the real world.
