Google Search Result’s Extreme Far Left Bias

Can you trust Google search results? I have spent my whole career working in the search engine optimization field, and have very carefully studied Google search results. Google’s search results over the last several years have slid from pretty helpful down to absolutely terrible and a big part of that is the extreme far left bias they have.

When searching for any politically charged topic, it is nearly impossible to find a Republican or conservative point of view or news source. What you will see is a long list of extreme far left biased websites. Even when using very specific search terms, nothing but heavily biased left wing sites will show up.

Many independent and even left leaning analysts have confirmed this:

My personal experience is even worse than this. In general, I cannot find ANY conservative or Republican news sources unless I explicitly put their name in search (“fox news” or “newsmax” or “nypost” or “X.com”).

Google also used to very heavily feature Twitter / X in search results while it was a left wing social media site. Now that it has swung to the center, Google has totally removed it and replaced it with the ultra left social site Reddit.

The bias is most noticeable in Google search results and Google news, but also is even visible in their autocorrect feature: https://www.cato.org/blog/how-market-tech-products-uncovered-potential-google-search-bias

Google took many especially outright biased actions during the election to try to put forth exclusively far left content to elect far left candidates. Examples:

  • Google removed the Joe Rogan – Donald Trump interview from search results – https://x.com/tehseowner/status/1850886611912761351
  • Google’s blacklist flipped the 2020 presidential and 2022 midterm elections -https://x.com/KanekoaTheGreat/status/1822706204298338615
  • The top search results for “donald trump” related searches were pro Kamala Harris articles during the 2024 election https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1818708870635946411

I know some people have switched search engines to Duck Duck Go or Kagi to get better, less biased results. I still use Google as I have to study it for my business. There are also rumors that Elon Musk will launch a new search engine at X.com, which would be fantastic.
