We held my mom’s graveside service on Friday, followed by a family dinner at Jordan’s house, then had her larger celebration of life last night (Saturday).
We were very fortunate to have our second mom Denise do the service for us.
Justin put together a very nice slide show of Mom’s life.
If I were to do the memorial service again, I would read a book she always read to us as kids probably, “I will love you forever”.
Below is her obituary:
Linda Marie O’Tyson was born October 25, 1957 in Tacoma, Washington. She was raised by her parents, Harold and Carolyn Martin.
Linda’s first marriage was to Randall Gross. During this marriage, she gave birth to her four precious boys, Joel, Jordan, Justin, and Joshua.
In January 2000, she married Claude O’Tyson Jr. in Lakewood, Washington. In 2012, she and Claude moved to Maricopa, Arizona, where they resided until her passing on December 15, 2022.
Linda is survived by adoring husband, Claude O’Tyson Jr, parents, four sons, and eight grandchildren. She will be remembered as a generous woman who loved Jesus Christ, her husband, and her family.
A celebration of life service will be held at Cedar Springs Community Church, located at 25713 70th Ave E, Graham, Washington at 4:00PM on Saturday, January 7, 2023.

My mom leaves a complicated legacy, she lived many different lives. A daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, an addict, a renewed wife. She was many things to many people. She spent large portions of her life estranged from much of her family. She also did a lot for those she loved: she taught all of her boys to love to read, to hike, got us our first computers and video games. She will be missed.
Sorry for your loss, Joel, Jordan, and your whole family. My deepest condolences.
Sorry for the loss of your mother. She must have been an incredible woman! Hope you and Jordan are doing okay.
