DMV Should be Privatised

Right now I am seated in the most inefficient place in America- the government operated Department of Motor Vehicles in California. I have 30 tickets ahead of me to get my CA license.
I don’t think I have ever seen a more incompetent, slow moving group of government employees than at the Santa Monica DMV. They talk slowly, their hands move slowly, and they frequently leave for extended breaks.

I strongly believe that functions such as the DMV should be entirely subcontracted to private companies.  There would be a massive gain in efficiency and accuracy of work. AAA already does this really successfully in CA for vehicle registrations, but thy should be able to do it for all functions. Private companies would do this cheaper faster and better than these government sloths could ever dream of.

Sadly, we live in a country with ever increasing government regulations so this is unlikely to happen.
