Edo Tokyo Museum…

Every society looks at history in a way favorable to themselves. Americans think we beat Nazi Germany at D-Day when in reality the Russians had nearly reached Germany at that point and had already won that war. We just got the spoils of Western Europe. The Japanese, in their museums and textbooks, don’t really mention their invasion of China, the Rape of Nanjing, or the bombing of Pearl Harbor. They do spend a ton of time on the fire bombing of Tokyo though…. The firebombing was horrific and killed 100,000 people in a single night and hundreds of thousands over the course of the war. But what led to that firebombing is nearly ignored in their telling of history.
