Weeds: Fun at First, Then Awful

I have watched a couple seasons of Weeds now during my weekly laundry time. At first, Weeds was a funny and cute show mocking suburban life in a new way.

Now I hate the characters and find the humor stale.

Each episode though is pretty much the same crap with small differences. The show is essentially a cheesy soap opera masquerading as something better.… read more “Weeds: Fun at First, Then Awful”

Free Speech Cannot Survive Without Free Trade

Free speech, by its very nature, cannot survive without free trade. ‚ Think about it. ‚ If the government allocates goods and services, that means you you have no choice and must rely on the government to give you what you need to survive. ‚ One person or a small group of people will decide whether or not and how much food/shelter/medical care/transportation/vacation/etc to give you.… read more “Free Speech Cannot Survive Without Free Trade”

Great Article on Financial Collapse

Forbes was kind enough to publish an article discussing the financial collapse from the perspective of one of the few smart bankers left in the country, Andrew Beal owner of Beal Bank. Here are a couple of quotes to take to heart:

Great Forbes Article on Nationalization of America

Ordinarily, I will not quote other people’s articles much on my blog, but this article by Jerry Bowyer is very scary and discusses how America’s free market’s are being nationalized right now and our country is rapidly becoming a socialist country.‚  The problem is that I can’t see anyway to stem the overwhelming tied rising up against the free markets right now.‚ … read more “Great Forbes Article on Nationalization of America”

Facebook About to Slaughter Twitter

Facebook has made some upgrades to it’s interface… you can now comment on or thumbs up just about anything other people stick in the mini-feed.‚  Basically Facebook has stolen Twitter’s secret sauce.‚  Not to mention it has all the rest of the Facebook interface with profiles, chat, networks and the million apps.‚  I am not usually a big fan of using things like twitter, FB, myspace or linkedin but tonight I got sucked in and chatted with a few people and commented on a bunch of random comments from people.‚ … read more “Facebook About to Slaughter Twitter”
