State & federal government regulation of medicine is utterly ridiculous. Such regulation leads directly to abuse by special interests groups (mostly doctors advocacy organizations like the AMA or insurance interests groups).

Concussions
The NFL is being pressured into taking steps to reduce the occurrence of concussions by the media and fans right now. Reducing concussions is a great goal, especially since concussions have been shown to cause brain damage, alter personalities and cause Alzheimers later in life. Football players at every level from Pee-wee on up through high school, college and the professional leagues should be required to wear better protective gear and use tactics on the field that reduce concussions. … read more “Concussions”

Resource Use
I go back and forth sometimes between two schools of thought on resource usage:
A) Conservation- resources are limited and must be saved (environmentalists, energy & water conservation, etc.)
B) Exploration & Development- the universe holds infinite resources and we should focus on finding new ways to exploit these rather than waste time on conservation.
